Greenstar today
Initially formed in 2001 [as Materials Recovery Ltd], Greenstar is part of the NTR group, and is today the largest recycling-led waste management service provider in the UK and Ireland, with a growing presence in the US.
We aim to set a new industry standard by offering a complete range of cost-effective waste management and compliance services.

We have a UK collection fleet size of approximately 700 vehicles, providing collection services to 23 Local Authorities and 1.1 million homes, and we have 40 facilities with 1450 employees. We also have a significant presence in outsourced waste management for the commercial sector.

Greenstar and Municipal Services
In 2007, Greenstar acquired the Verdant Group, a UK leader in the municipal waste collection market since 2003. The synergies between Verdant and Greenstar establishes Greenstar in a unique position to compete in the municipal market. With this, Greenstar intends to build on this position of strength through acquisition and continued investment in advanced technologies.
