Greenstar Appoints Commercial Manager For New Atlas MRF

Recycling-led waste management company Greenstar UK has appointed Steve Oulds, a highly experienced industry professional, as commercial manager for its new Atlas materials recycling facility (MRF) currently under construction in north London.

Oulds has joined Greenstar from Holmen Paper Ltd where, as environmental contracts manager, he led business development for the company’s 100,000 tonne pa commingled MRF in Essex.

Prior to joining Holmen Paper in late 2007, he spent nearly 10 years with LondonWaste Ltd, most recently as its commercial head, before which he worked for the North London Waste Authority.

A member of the CIWM, Oulds’ extensive experience of winning, managing and expanding recyclable processing contracts with collection and disposal local authorities and commercial waste companies will be put to good use by Greenstar.

The Atlas ‘super MRF’ at Edmonton, currently undergoing equipment fit-out for a scheduled April start, will provide strategically important processing capacity in London and the South East. Greenstar has already secured local authority contracts to process 100,000 tonnes of recyclables annually at Atlas which is licensed to process 250,000 tonnes of commingled dry recyclables pa, as well as to handle a similar tonnage through its linked waste transfer station.

Oulds will be responsible for Greenstar’s commercial relationships with both public and private sector customers and prospects in north London and the Home Counties.
